Luang Prabang is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in Northeastern Laos. This small city is surrounded by the Mekong and Nam Khan rivers which merge here. Luang Prabang is home to a facinating array of gilded temples, weathered French colonial facades and art deco storefronts. In the 18th century this small town was home to over 60 buddhist wats. Today the number is still around 40 or more.
